What is SWAP?
SWAP is a materials exchange program. It is a free online resource enabling exchange materials, needed or wanted. Exchanging materials on the SWAP site, instead of purchasing new products, helps conserve natural resources, energy, and landfill space. This alternative involves simply logging in to the SWAP website and creating a "wanted" or "available" listing.
SWAP is available to many organizations such as non-profit, businesses, schools, and more. If you have something you want to get rid of, there is a good chance someone on the SWAP website wants it. Examples of SWAP materials include construction materials (like bricks or wood), furniture, manufacturing overruns, clothing, horse manure and gardening tools. If you have something you want to get rid of and you don't want it filling up landfill space, put it on the SWAP website and see if someone else will gladly take it off your hands.
Browse the current listings (there may be only a few while the program is just starting), and come back weekly or more often to find new listings. Register and you will have access to even more options.
